Thoughts of the deep. On a philosophical Tangent. Can be OT or not. Open to interpretation.

I have been pondering a while here. What is the purpose of religion and Can technology also be considered Religion? ascendingWatchman. -- ...and I shall shed my light over dark evil. For the dark things cannot stand the light.

I'm not sure about the first question but to answer your second there are some fundamentals you'd need to address first. According to Wikipedia, a religion "usually relates to the existence, nature, and worship of a deity or deities and divine involvement in the universe and human life. Alternately, it may also relate to values and practices transmitted by a spiritual leader." So there you have it, and thus the question: who or what qualifies as a deity/deities in the tech world, or which single person can be taken to be the 'spiritual' authoritative figure that speaks on behalf of the technology domain?
