I was trying to get an iphone from orange for prepaid one has to pay 30k which is a 6 months contract @ 5k. My question: Is it possible to LOCK a sim card to a phone(iphone) since they say you can only use the sim on that phone ONLY? nerdalf. -- One who asks questions is a fool for 5 minutes one who doesn't ask questions is a fool forever.

It should work: by linking the IMSI or the MSISDN to the IMEI you lock it to a phone. So if you try to change phones and you do a location update it will refuse since the entries in the EIR and HLR dont mach. Thanks for the knowledge, would you have a link to explain it further i will be googling in the meanwhile.

You can also 'unlock' it - by tweaking the iPhone OS - it will remove the software part that associates the SIM to IMEI.
