Hi, Wondering over the web there seems to be very few (good) network monitor tools and still wanting in terms of LAN monitoring activities. The ones that come close listed below have not really impressed fully;
manage-engine netflow analyser manage-engine opmanager orion netflow/net tools
Am looking for a good monitor tool - all inclusive of - netflow analyser - inspection of packets and report rogues - scheduled reporting - protocol analysis - LAN PC activities (web, LAN/netbios), analysis unusual activities on LAN and reporting - maybe some aspects of firewall or intrusion detection system and NOT necessarily IDS but should send alerts if certain thresholds are reached. Whether open source or otherwise advise.\ Regards, Wilson./

Boss, If not OPManager/Manage Engine, what else is a better tool?? Please TAKE your time to study its features and you will realize a wealth of tweaks that will help u. Have you also seen its firewall analyser? SolarWinds Orion is also gud, but Enterprise level... I have not had a chance to use opensource tools so I may not comments on any (the only hindrance for the above 2 is the licensing costs! damn expensive) On Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 11:14 PM, David Mugo <raidarmax@gmail.com> wrote:
