600 Meters Radius WIFI Access point

Hello good people, I am looking for a way to setup a hotspot that will cover at least 600Mtrs Radius. I have already looked at the option of 6 nano station's setup in a circle. Is there a single device I can use? -- *Kind Regards Martin Muraguri C: +254726937792 E: martinmur87@gmail.com W: www.OctoberICT.com *

See if you can get what you looking for here http://www.ruckuswireless.com. Don know if ZTE or Huawei have such routers.

How about using just one Omni directional antenna with a rocket? Or even a bullet attached to an omni? (overkill I think) -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ I can't hear you -- I'm using the scrambler.

Hi, I think we have to keep in mind the laws of physics.... antenna power and gain issues will catch up with you. Long ranges are OK when doing point-to-point bridge links. It is better to go keep the range short, especially when the wifi is for clients e.g. in this hotspot scenario. What I am trying to say is, buy 2 or 3 APs and your clients will be satisfied. If the budget allows, go for Ruckus as Denis says, their performance is SOLID. Kind regards, Bernard

I always say, wifi signal propagation is anything but, straightforward. The correct answer to your question (as is) is simply, "it depends". An omni/bullet combo will work best If your vantage point is high. And intended signal recipients are in non-storey structures (hopefully sparsely distributed across the intended coverage area) in which case the signal will permeate through the roofs/ceilings which offer less resistance as opposed to the more denser walls. If the intended coverage area is on the extreme end of things (primarily populated high rise apartments and such) a unidirectional antennae approach is much more logical. Eg. Nano stations etc And placement should be at strategic locations, with all but the primary access point working as repeaters as opposed to concentrating them at a central point as access points in bridge mode. I will say this though, having extensively used both Nanos and TP-Link access points. The later come out on top each and every time.
