Re: [Skunkworks] Reason For Adhoc Market Research

Re: Market Research for ALL The reason I am carrying out this adhoc survey is to find out how coders/software companies make a sale.
From the replies I've viewed without any bias nobody seems to know much about software companies in Kenya.
Bottom line is if a forum designed for & used by coders finds it difficult to name at least 10 Kenyan software companies. How will the end-users/customers/clients ever get to hear about you? -- Regards, Joseph Karanja Sales & Marketing Director Olivine Technology Ojijo Plaza,Plums Lane, Off Ojijo Road, Parklands (Near Parklands Sports Club). I'm surprised to hear that some of us have never heard of companies like Fintech and Craft Silicon. Don't we do competitor analysis? On Wed, May 26, 2010 at 4:19 PM, joseph karanja <jkaranja@olivinetech.com>wrote:

Karanja, have you really read the thread? Most guys know a company or two not all(especially the ones you listed), so your conclusion that "nobody seems to know much about software companies in Kenya" is NOT correct. I believe when you want to have something (software wise)done in Kenya you ask and you get the information especially from friends or in a community like SkunkWorks, so people KNOW software companies in Kenya and some like Craft Silicon and Webtribe are published on the newspapers, get mentioned in converations now and again....

Your survey results are flawed because of 'response bias' . Secondly not everyone reads every post on a list , even if they read it only a few bother to answer. The results do not indicate anything conclusive apart from a flaw in your survey methodology.

Through referrals and web searches. Out of curiosity, what services do Olivine Technology offer? Your website (http://www.olivinetech.com) does not reveal much... ~gms
