Spam Filtering - facileOCR

Hi everyone, For those of you who implement messaging solutions using FOSS, here is a new one I've just learned (why does gmail editor underline when I write "learnt"?) about.... <quote as posted> just want to share this with you: facileOCR is a new spamassassin plugin to analyze the text of images (using OCR). (It's meant to fight the current wave of all-so-colerful pills advertisment) It works great with spamd -- and does it's job for me. As always -- your mileage may vary. ( The spammers seem to change the images very frequent - changing text, font, ... ) Keep in mind, that the OCR will for sure need some resources; it's more meant to try catch the rest of image-spam which made it thru all your other barriers. For more information & download: http://spielwiese.la-evento.com/facileOCR/ (Im not the author, just promoting it a bit ;-) </quote. This is so good to hear. Lately, even gmail filters don't catch the image-spam. For me, this is a good addition to FuzzyOCR which I have been using quite successfully with SpamAssassin on several servers that I manage. It is a simple drop in, just like FyzzyOCR, And talking of spam, the upsurge seems to be inversely proportional to the world economic recession - as we sink deeper into the recession, the more the spam that we get. Makes me think that spammers are also hard hit and so looking for more money:-) -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ "Clothes make the man.
