There are very many solutions for that... I am actually working on creating an overview of the various options to make it more clear for everyone - but meanwhile you can look at: http://whiteafrican.com/2010/12/08/the-kenyan-mobile-money-ecosystem/ .. Mike

Maybe i can rephrase the question to make a better understanding. Is there an ecommerce web platform that can incorporate mobile payments like Magento. Thing with Magento ( an ecommerce platform ) is that it does not accept payments via mobile payment options even though it's an open source unit. I'd like to incorporate Pesapal / iPay etc to a site. What platform can i utilize for this? * W.* On Thu, Oct 6, 2011 at 11:40 AM, Watchman <skunkingrahim@gmail.com> wrote:

Soi contact pesapal to ask about the system's integration and a conversation with Pesapal's customer care i got this response about asking whether they incorporate in to an e-commerce platform. "..So do you want someone to do it for you or??...." to which i try and explain, i'd like to get some more information where i get this response " Check our website. All the information is there. " Kind of put me off the service, I don't mind someone telling me that there's an option someone can pay for the installation but come on, you're a fledgling of a company and you've got a hell of an attitude being in customer care? Thank you all. For Pesapal. Thank you agosta, you're always there when i ask for help. I would like to get information on-list. this is always part of the community we're growing so let's work the kinks out here and share. What i am asking is: With the current interface grown on Pesapal, i've gone through the scripts, they seem to work quite efficiently and it would be great to use it on my site. What systems can i use this with? Is there a preferred e-commerce platform i can use to run Pesapal on my site with? With iPay, i will email and post the info on this thread. * W.* On Thu, Oct 6, 2011 at 2:28 PM, William Warero <wwarero@gmail.com> wrote:

Rahim, yes, here's the info; You see most payment providers provide API's for clients to use with their payment gateways. E.g Paypal's API for website integration. You might have a website and wonder how to start using their API to start transacting. If you have a good programmer, they can learn and use the API to link to the payment gateway for processing transactions (or you can deal directly with your payment gateway provider to help you on this - Agosta can help if PESAPAL). But, we are trying to make this very easy for all. By providing a Magento module which will work between the payment gateway's API, and your online magento store, you can just start transacting in a few hours. Hopefully PESAPAL will help everyone if they certify our module at some point or just release their own version for all shopping carts. Jauditech is an ecommerce solutions provider, specifically making online transactions possible for our clients, by using the best tools and options currently in the market, with the aim of making ecommerce simple, and easy. PS: Open cart (a magento variant??) has a PESAPAL payment module, though I have not yet used it.(developed by an expat coder) Thanks James http://www.jauditech.com From: skunkworks-bounces@lists.my.co.ke [mailto:skunkworks-bounces@lists.my.co.ke] On Behalf Of Watchman Sent: Thursday, October 06, 2011 2:52 PM To: Skunkworks Mailing List Subject: Re: [Skunkworks] Mobile payments enabled ecommerce Hi James, Is there a way you can share this info here? You see most payment providers provide API’s for clients to use with their payment gateways. E.g Paypal’s API for website integration. You might have a website and wonder how to start using their API to start transacting. If you have a good programmer, they can learn and use the API to link to the payment gateway for processing transactions (or you can deal directly with your payment gateway provider to help you on this - Agosta can help if PESAPAL).****

But, we are trying to make this very easy for all. By providing a Magento module which will work between the payment gateway’s API, and your online magento store, you can just start transacting in a few hours. Hopefully PESAPAL will help everyone if they certify our module at some point or just release their own version for all shopping carts.****

PesaPal / iPay (and the others) are all providing an API that you can use for integrating mobile payment into the solution you have... but you still have to do that integration (yourself)... Some of the providers provide pre-build integration-modules for various systems check the respective websites, if you are lucky some will provide a prebuild integration with Magento - but don't count on it ;-) Their offering is that they provide the API that Safcom (and others) don't - hence making it possible to do the integration in the first place! ..
