"above 100m" is quite relative, if I may say. What exact distance would you like to cover? On a clear line of sight without vegetative/concrete obstacles in the path, I think most ordinary WAPs will do, but remember the further you are from the WAP, the weaker the signal and the lesser the transmit speed. I have one site where I've used a DWL-2100 AP with an outdoor antenna (can't recall the model off the top of my head) and it does over 100m. The good thing with the outdoor antenna is that the further you are from it, the wider the coverage angle. It's a directional one, if you might ask.

Thanks for that being directional is not a problem but atleast I want to cover upto 250m so as to get to 100 0n poor line of sight! On Sun, May 16, 2010 at 3:28 PM, Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo@gmail.com>wrote:

Why not use the nano? Contrary to popular belief, you can flash it and install openWRT. (then start tweaking with the settings). At least with the adaptive antennae, and if you have another nano on the other end, you will definately cover over 100m even without an external. Why not use the nano? Contrary to popular belief, you can flash it and install openWRT. (then start tweaking with the settings). At least with the adaptive antennae, and if you have another nano on the other end, you will definately cover over 100m even without an external.
