The "interested" parties, were men who had spent more money on the site, so basically if you spent little $$ then you got the short end of the stick. Though considering how few women (compared to men) used the site, I'm not shocked they wrote bots.

Apparently most of the men on AM (Ashley Madison), were conversing with bots. Bots created to get them to spend more money on the site. 

Wonder how legal all this is? Does paying for their services guarantee you'll talk to a real person or... could they switch a person out with code.
