Re: [Skunkworks] Is there a problem with the Kenya Shilling - OT

Frank; We should not blame oil or drought, why is Tanzania exporting all types of food to us? Why is Uganda selling us food? We are in the same climate zone! There has to be a problem with us. Our inflation is directly related to the PEV, I have done a comparative that takes this narrative to February 2008, even then, the Governor maintained its a temporary situation that'll correct itself, see where that correction has taken us? Either we are lazy, careless, stupid or all of the above. If a nation cannot feed itself, what else can we achieve? Peter On 6/13/11, Peter Osotsi <peter.osotsi@gmail.com> wrote:
David;
I have struggled with this problem since the 2008 post election violence (PEV). My colleagues and I (three people) have been on the Governors case, but it seems there's a misguided policy at the CBK. He perpetually ignores our concerns, I even protested his reappointment. I think the CBK are looking at expanding the economy from the wrong perspective.

I finally scratched the surface on Aki's rants : we are all too busy brokering one thing or another rather than actually *producing* anything. Its the Kenyan entrepreneurial model - as Aki rightly points out.

I blame is what we do everyday.....solution, tell your boss to pay you in USD :) On Mon, Jun 13, 2011 at 6:05 PM, Ndungi Kyalo <ndungi@gmail.com> wrote:
