Re: [Skunkworks] Safaricom cloud management howto

Wrong....please just have a look at VMware Cisco Emc (vce). Technically as far as I know you get just iaas and maybe standalone services like storage for now.
Again call safcom, ask for a technical person. Unless one responds here.

I wouldn't compare it to cpanel and what it does, but all in all before you compare it to cpanel I would wish if you could go back to the characteristics of cloud computing and its definition then we can somehow be on the same page in regards to matching the various characteristics to the various tools and enablement of the various cloud features, that make something to fit the cloud computing definition. Also as you read on VCE, look at cloud automation, provisioning and management, as this are some of the features that transform the VCE stack to a cloud solution.
Can somebody with links to Safcom Technical get us the exact facts before we continue throwing our own definitions on what the Safcom Cloud is and what it is not and what is offered.
Regards, James

@William I hope this snippet from a proposal proposal document obtained from Safcom will set you on track. <Horse'sMouth> *"....Safaricom virtual infrastructure service is based on EMC, VMware, RSA Security & Cisco platform bringing in a mix of the world leaders in information systems management and cloud computing....."* </Horse'sMouth> Sorry I can't share the full document though. I'm sure someone at Safaricom Business may be willing to answer your other specific queries. Tony.
