Rita I was defrauded by Orange on Internet everywhere. It works well on CBD but I have tried it in Buruburu, Ngumo, Kariobangi SOuth, Kitengela and Kasarani and its a failure. I have called Jean Michael many times but the guy doesnt care. I feel cheated and conned. I have not used more than 20mbs since Aprile when I bought it. A clarification on your earlier mail.
One computer can connect to the Livebox after which as many devices that are Wi-Fi enabled can connect to the Livebox. It is a Multi Wi-Fi connector (phones, Laptops and other Wi-Fi enabled devices can connect to the Livebox).
Secondly, kindly note the reason why we have the fair usage policy what you have described being wrong is to ensure Home User get good quality service.

Safaricom (and other mobile internet providers) cannot control how many people connect to the internet via their GPRS-EDGE-UMTS-HSDPA infrastructure at any particular time. If a crowd of 5000 comes into an area for a convention and 1000 of them use Safaricom to connect to the Internet, QoS is just compromised. If they do not have sufficient network capacities to accomodate the increased load ......

Clearly when TEAMS goes live the download limit will increase. They will probably try and cap usage to 20-30 Gb. Some attempts to enforce usage caps are meeting resistance elsewhere. Alex Gakuru ako wapi?

I agree, Orange data networks messed. I live outside Nairobi and got a modem that never seemed to work. I later off-loaded it to a colleague who lives in Kilimani and he never has a complaint about it. On Wed, Jul 22, 2009 at 12:01 PM, mike oketch <mikeoketch@gmail.com> wrote:

Its not a fraud as some of u are saying. It boils down to the signal strength not capacity issues on the orange network. I live I Ruiru and Its great (but they limit speeds to a max of abt 13 KBps about 100kbps when on safcom I get average 22 KBps and 30KBps on good times) When I move to Ongata Rongai its dead slow. Its all coz of the signal strength. The sad story with wireless networks.
