To load them as a modem automatically, install the package usb-modeswitch. For fedora, yum install usb-modeswitch. It switches the modems from cdrom to usb mode. You also need to disable the SIM pin too, I think. After that, you can connect with the network manager applet just like the saf modem. -- with Regards: Get your free technology e-magazine in pdf format: Tekniaonline: http://bit.ly/tekniaonline-2 26 alphabetical pick up lines for dummies, only at: http://gramware.blogspot.com _______________________________________________ Skunkworks mailing list Skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke http://lists.my.co.ke/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/skunkworks ------------ Skunkworks Rules http://my.co.ke/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=94 ------------ Other services @ http://my.co.ke Other lists ------------- Announce: http://lists.my.co.ke/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/skunkworks-announce Science: http://lists.my.co.ke/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/science kazi: http://lists.my.co.ke/cgi-bin/mailman/admin/kazi/general

With regular Ubuntu 9.04 & 9.10 you just plug in your dongle, select your provider & you are good to go. It becomes even better on 9.10 because connecting via bluetooth to your cellphone and using it to browse is as easy as 1,2,3. Even someone with no linux skill can do it. Give a try you will not be disappointed. Kind regards, -- Lusiola Brian Everyone has photographic memory, not everyone has film though.
