It is indeed a great move and an impression to see the milestones we have made the last couple of years. Techies embracing change and keeping with the changing fortunes of time. Especially of importance is amount of knowledge and hunger for SIP integration which I know everyone is getting involved in, including the technology giants though they are doing it silently. This is important for us the Open Source/ open standards people who believe that open systems and interoperability is a life style and is the future of communication. I believe we have done well... 1. Terrestrial and marine fiber opening the opportunity for broadband and VOIP 2. Cloud business with Telcos now looking at opportunities in hosted services 3. IP CENTREX, the next big buzzword in Kenya for the next one year or so [Voice as a Service] 4. Technocrats getting ready for *Internet Protocol version 6* *5. Asterisk coming of age and corporates starting to think outside the box. The solution works and has the right support. This means opportunities for developers to now improve on Unified communication. what more can we do? Apps for asterisk like what Android has done. We are the next silicon valley if not better.* * * *I must admit that the SIP evangelists have done well, their *resilience* and consistency over time has created the right attitude and confidence in the market for custom solutions for UC.* * * For developers in this forum, i guess we are posed with an opportunity to develop Apps around the IVR, USSD, UC, CRM, Onnet and offnet Billing solutions, Social networks for corporates, Shared services systems both video and data. Systems that integrate with Open standards systems out there. Not to mention that companies like snom and Polycom have done so much already in support of the same. This of course has seen companies like microsoft moving in to certify these products in readiness for microsoft UC [OCS and Lync} there is definitely something special about SIP people. Cisco developing the TIP protocol to allow interoperability for telepresence implementors. I believe there is much happening on IP and I believe there is no better forum to open up these opportunities than on skunkworks. My 1 cent, any one who has more info on SIP, IPV6, VOIP, IPcentrex, Session border control etc. Please share.... regards Oliver SIP Evangelist - _________________________________________ Experience SIP - Today’s Hottest Communications Protocol Comes of Age
