TRENDY DESKTOP - HOW KENYANS TWEET: THE TOP TWITTER CLIENTS

TRENDY DESKTOP - HOW KENYANS TWEET: THE TOP TWITTER CLIENTS I looked at 11,500 tweets and found several ways in which kenyans interact with the Twitter. These is a follow up to a previous analysis 6 months ago. Again, I used the Twittter API to monitor public feeds from the Kenyan locality over a 24hr period. The tweets were cumulatively collected for a 24hr period using Trendy Desktop. On average 1,000 tweets are sent every hour and well over 15, 000 tweets each day The results are attached as images. What is most significant is the rise of Snaptu as the preffered method of tweeting. Snaptu rose from 15% to 42% of all the tweets sent while twitter (including mobile) dropped from 59% to 30% as compared to 6 months ago. Also included is a list of 7 top twitter users in Kenya who happen to contribute over 21% of the volume of tweets sent and the clients they normally use. More analysis of these later.

Where is @timnjiru and his irritating Tweets here. And @alykhansatchu. I think that the above information is applicable to a certain social sub-graph, given that even homeboyz does not appear on my timeline and most of the other top tweeters. Otherwise, thats a nice effort. Hope the criticism will help you improve and you do not take it unkindly

no doubt @timnjiru and @alykhansatchu and many more others would be at the top of the list based on how you rate them. Generally twitter users are ranked by the number of tweets sent or number of followers a user has. I used neither. The top users were largely determined by the conversations i.e @replys and retweets made during the specified period. The objective was not to determine how many tweets a user is capable of sending (can be easily manipulated), but how many of those tweets did other users actually reply or retweet and therefore eliminates alot of users who youd imagine should make the top list. FYI most of @timnjiru tweets completely dont make any sense

well, am aware that Tim Njiru needs usaidizi wa serikali on how to use Twitter, but surely, @alykhansatchu does get enough replies to be on the list
