The next version of Ubuntu (v9.10 coming on October 29) will have an app called Ubuntu Software Center. While perusing their design wiki I was impressed with the level of thought and detail given to almost all possible user interactions. A team of artists, copy-editors, hackers, interface designers and even librarians (!!) are collaborating to create what might turn out be a useful piece of software. Interesting insights on what it takes to build good software with a plain-ol' wiki. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SoftwareCenter saidi
