Hey, John Gitau is trying to put a committee together, and form a proper structure for EANOG by the time of the AIS conference in Kenya this year. EANOG's not been up to much, but hopefully we can have a good structure to drive more local activities. I think then the list & other communication tools become active again. Hi Riyaz, EANOG should represent the face of East Africa, we already have a very successfull tzNOG modelled around AFNOG and anchored by tzNIC. How about revitalizing KeNOG? We can have it anchored around KeNIC! Tespok and Kenet. Regards On Mar 5, 2017 5:54 PM, "Riyaz Bachani via skunkworks" < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

It's one of the things guys have discussed. The preference was to keep the EANOG name, but the main thing now is for us to revitalize the NOG chapter in Kenya like you said. EANOG was born before any of the other NOGs, even SAFNOG - hence the name. But it's not managed to get off the ground. We all need to pool together and ensure we have a decent local NOG - community of engineers helping each other - build towards community implemented projects (the way KIXP got built) - increase technical capacity and knowledge of network operations I suggest more guys volunteer & we make this happen. We had earlier already spoken with Fiona at TESPOK, and they're fully supportive of the initiative. We just need to start activity again. My sentiments too.....easier to build KeNOG to catapult EANOG, however we will support either that gets off the ground. Regards, Simon Mayoye On 3/6/17 7:01 AM, Riyaz Bachani via skunkworks wrote:

And to start activity again, I have created (actually cloned from EANOG) KENOG mailing list. I have synced the members and I see there are people from TZ and UG, probably everywhere, but I think they wouldn't mind being there, as long as someone sends an introduction mail saying this is now a Kenyan-specific group. The non-Kenyans can be observers. The list address is kenog@lists.my.co.ke, just like the others. -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254 7 3200 0004/+254 7 2274 3223 "Oh, the cruft."
