Taxation Rates in the UK
Hi Sorry to go off topic but I want to import a Land Rover discovery from the UK. Is there a place to establish what the taxation rates would be or how they calculate tax on vehicles. Kevin

last i checked it was something like -- import duty = 25% of CIF which is the sum of invoice price, insurance and freighting excise = 20% of sum of CIF & import duty vat = 16% of sum of CIF, import duty, excise

Kevin, Hope this is not too late. Total amount of duty you pay is determined by several factors and you can import the same car model and end up paying different duties.
