Google wallet just launched today. I came across this interesting promo video on the same. I wonder whether there a future for NFC solutions in Africa ?

First, I need to get me a Nexus S 4G....second....why dont the fast food restaurants locally come up with ideas that allow people to pay using some new technology? Im surprised KFC does not deliver.....so an idea to anyone interested, start a delivery service for KFC using people to queue at the lines, paid on commision, for the orders people send via sms.......just a thought On Tue, Sep 20, 2011 at 2:11 PM, Kevin Omondi <kevin.ouma@gmail.com> wrote:

Since when do the likes of KFC, McDonalds, Burger King, Chick-fil-A, Wendys, Wetzel's Pretzels, Sbarro, Subway [fill others here] deliver? Something I have never thought of until now. Steve ----- "Paul Kevin" <paultitude@gmail.com> wrote:

They deliver? Seriously? not where I usually am (US, Florida), unless I just used to focus on the drive ins. I know some outlets in New York deliver but thats it and maybe as you say, in other countries. Some fast food outlets also pizza outlets like Dominos and Papa Jones even outsource. Basically in some places they take in call orders and say like you, if you have a car you can earn some etra cash delivering in your free time. KFC management should be familiar with how it works. Dont know much more am just a consumer , maybe you should look into that. ----- "Paul Kevin" <paultitude@gmail.com> wrote:

Kevin, To your point I think Africa and more specifically Kenya has a great opportunity to leverage NFC payments. The fact that we do not have wide merchant acceptance infrastructure for plastic gives us an opportunity to leapfrog developed markets in the same way we did with cellphones.I'm frankly surprised that in the land of 13 Million mobile wallets no one has seen the opportunity of creating the ecosystem. What's lacking in my view is the will among the stakeholders. John
