Hahaa.. Kwani you are in which side of the planet?:) It's very doable as shown in the folloowing: <http://www.bsdcan.org/2007/schedule/events/26.en.html> http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Multi_WAN_/_Load_Balancing http://www.google.com/url?q=http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Multi-WAN_Versi... http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Troubleshoot_Outbound_Load_Balancing_Issues On the 2nd question, I will have to check my notes. I think I had something about Linux, just can't recall now, but will post it if I do manage to find. The pfSense one should be str8 forward. I've included the troubleshooting link.

I ask because the feature set looks impressive, but bsd is an entirely new world to me. Maybe i should have asked. Is there a linux alternative to pfsense that is as featured ? On 6/15/10, Patrick Kariuki <patrick.kariuki@gmail.com> wrote:

Don't fret at it. For your case, the major difference would be in the interface naming. While Linux uses eth0...N, FreeBSD would use some name close to the device itself, like xl0..N for some 3Com cards, bge0...N for Broadcom, fxp0..N for Intel cards, etc. The rest should not be difficult to figure out. Of course the FreeBSD folks are here to answer some of your questions:-) -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ "If you have nothing good to say about someone, just shut up!." -- Lucky Dube

Wrong! pfSense is FreeBSD in itself, albeit stripped down for special purpose. It's not supposed to be used "on FreeBSD":-) You run it off the CD, with customized config files saved on floppy (if exist!) or flash drive, or you install it to disk and run it from there. -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ "If you have nothing good to say about someone, just shut up!." -- Lucky Dube

Are you trying to configure 2 WANs with pfsense? On Tue, Jun 15, 2010 at 1:33 PM, Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo@gmail.com>wrote:
