hi guru am client having problems to install a safaricom modem to windows 7 can anyone help

After customer care of safcom wasted my 3 hours trying to make it work in my Vista (including upgrading the 3G card software) ; I tried something on my own; and it worked for me. (However, this worked for Vista; I dont know about windows 7 - give it a try): * Safaricom 3G card:* -the 3G card will be seen as merely a flash disk <for some Vistas> ; So try the following: 1) Explore the data card under "My computer" and look for the following .exe or files to modify: set "DataCard_Setup" (32/64 bit) compatibility mode to "run as administrator" 2) set "setup" inside folder "safaricom broad band" to compatibility "run as administrator" 3) set "reset" to compatibility "run as administrator" (You may also set "autorun" to run as administrator, if your comp sees it as a program) Then insert device and double-click "autorun" and wait. Observe the task bar (hapo chini karibu na speaker icon) as 3G modem drivers are finally loaded and the device is now seen as a Modem. NB: You may be forced to unistall the program and reinstall if Autorun does not pick up the process as outlined above. Then after reinstall; double click the "autorun" once the huawei modem is seen as a flash disk. The safcom program may be kept on during this process. === Good Luck !!!

Could also be because the modem is viewed as a flash and not as a composite device. Try reinstalling the base driver from that place in control panel that shows all devices in the pc including the ones without drivers(i forget what its called). Custom install the driver as a composite device n the rest of the drivers will auto install kama kawaida. On 9/1/10, ndungu stephen <ndungustephen@gmail.com> wrote:

Run the modem on window xp compatibility mode. I.e. Properties>compatibility On 9/1/10, Mark Mwangi <mwangy@gmail.com> wrote:

You have to manually run the files inside the USB, ie the set up files. Using the autorun installation usually fails to install the drivers required to use the Modem as a data device. At least 4 devices should be installed in a complete set-up On 1 September 2010 15:35, the mayor <the.verygood.mayor@gmail.com> wrote:
