Hi guys, I have recently graduated with a higher diploma in ICT; extensive knowledge in computer hardware, but very little knowledge in software development! Therefore, I was wondering if there's anyone who would take me in and recruit me in this particular field? I am open to any suggestions. W/Regards, Jonas M.Bushoki

You went and learnt only what your teacher taught you forgetting what you wanted to learn in school? I thought in today's world you pursue what you believe will make you? Anyway, it's not my aim to break your heart. Success in your pursuit. On Wed, Sep 19, 2012 at 3:47 PM, Bushoki Jonas <jonasbushoki@gmail.com>wrote:

so your area of interest is software development? I'm sure if you're willing to put in some time up front people have projects they wouldnt mind you joining in. If you are even remotely interested in networking (for which being a developer works in your favor) we might have some industry focused training and networking opportunities. just subscribe to the <http://lists.my.co.ke/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/eanog>eanog <http://www.eanog.org>mailing list to get notified when those happen. gitau On Wed, Sep 19, 2012 at 3:47 PM, Bushoki Jonas <jonasbushoki@gmail.com>wrote:

Thank you for the remark Martin. Not that I was a bad student in class; It's just that I want to add some software engineering to the hardware knowledge that I have. Thanks Gitau, I am also interested in networking too. I will make sure I subscribe. On 9/19/12, John Gitau <jgitau@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Jonas, You can join the openmrs.org community. It is a community developing and opensource medical record system. It will be easy for you to learn Java, css, javascript and many other software related skills. They have a weekly University call that you can join via skype or adobe connect and ask any questions. You will also get mentors who will help you improve your skills. And finally save lives by writing code. All the best. Regards Richard Gathogo.
