Tron Legacy pushing the envelope in film making
Just read previews on an upcomiong sci-fi by the Name TRON legacy . By the look of the trailers, looks like some visually stunning special effects -pushing the envelope on cinematography like Avatar did. Goddam those theaters in Nairobi - WTF ??? Now we are going to lose Tron too ! We lost Dark Knight, Avatar, Toy Story 3... They really do know how to trick the movie goers and raise the price - when I left college, it was around Ksh. 450, they pushed the price to Ksh. 470, 490, 500, 550, 600 ... I hear they are now approaching Ksh. 700 - but there is no 3D in sight !!!! Shame - for a top african city like Nairobi, 3D theater is a myth we only hear from those who watched : "*Did you see Avatar in 3D, it was awesome *!!! " said my boss :-( "*Watching it in 2D is nothing *!!!" (I had a good mind of going to coast over Christmas, unfortunately, my shags is in the opposite direction)

In that case - I will wait for it to finish the construction... Hope they repeat AALLL the 3D movies we missed - (especially the good ones) That should be good months spent revisiting the stories in 3D !!!
It is against City Council by laws to watch anything in 3D within the City Centre...
I understand a long time ago - a 3D experiment was tried in a theater in Nairobi - unfortunately, they were showing a horror .. And as the masked psycho walked down the corridor towards the audience - guys were seen running and screaming in terror from the theater (with the 3D shades on :)... Rumor has it may have closed the 3D shutdown ? <true, false - i dont know; but KBC used to have entertainment monopoly in Kenya, backed by ga-shogoo (Kanu) - and they hated anything entertaining >
