I saw some documentary of NatGeo or Discovery, I do not know which, but they were able to transmit power tirelessly and power some devices. More like the way microwaves work. I guess in future it will be possible as the technology matures. About the Nyayo Pioneer, I double Jeremy Clarkson would have had any kind words to say about it. He says really bad things about Bugati's and Maserati's, and the Pioneer is way down there, if it was a in a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being the worst, the Pioneer would have been like -100. However, the circuitry logic tells us that the light is not stored in the cable and that if 1 kg of light enters on one side, then 1 kg of light will be emitted at the other end. Using the earlier simple data carriage equation we can conclude that a fibre optic cable carrying data will weigh the same as one that is not.

Physics helps find a resolve .. put this on a scale of density & weight .... of the iced water & liquid water .. the later has more molecules thus heavier in a layman term. This explains why Ice floats on water. For empty CD & Burnt CD this requires a scale since the CD is subject to pressure while writing on it. I should say it becomes less heavier than its original after the preassure it undergoes. There is no matter involved when it comes to databits its all virtual .... Electromagnetic Fields are a form of wireless transmission. Frozen 1kg of water and 1kg of frozen water could weigh different. In this scenario, I am assuming that the former is 1kg of liquid water subjected to low temperatures and in the latter, I am thinking 1 kg of ice. 1 kg of ice would weigh 1 kg (of course), but 1 kg of water (which would be 1 ltr.) should weigh less after freezing, according to the theory of the anomalous expansion of water.
