Hi all, Zain have launched a relatively affordable unlimited internet service at 3250. I thin this is the way to go to offer competition to Safaricom who are way too expensive. I spent 7500 last month on my Safcom modem] and do not remember downloading any large file. Regards, Kevin Omondi

Im going to buy a modem and find out. Someone told me they should be ok. I plan to use it if im browsing for a long time, buy a small data bundle from Safcom and keep it when I urgently need supperfast speeds. Limewire, here I come. Hi Zain unlimited bundle is not new, It has just recently become more expensive. previously used to charge 99/- a day unlimited (am on post paid) totaled to about 3000/- a month but now its charging more. It did not charge if you did not use it during the 24hours of a day. Speeds are great, at odd hours but bellow reasonable most of the time. Ashford K.

It doesn't seem as if Zain is leading the way. It seems they are following the leaders. The latencies are typical of satellite latencies. Or a very bad connection. Either way, there is lack of leading and presence of being led.

I think gprs/edge networks have higher latency than 3g networks. Anyone with orange, saf com connection both on gprs/edge post ping and traceroutes.
