Jason Deli chain ditches open source e-mail for the Google cloud

When free software is going to meet its match as technology progresses further. I think Cloud Computing is the way to go and this article to me re-confirms my projects are on track. Kevin Verde, CIO of the nationwide chain of restaurants, Jason Deli, loves open source. He's even a fan of the open source e-mail platform he recently yanked out in favor of cloud-based Google Apps. But with 1,800 e-mail users to support among the organization's 228 retail locations and seven corporate offices, he had a choice to make: save a little bit of money or save a lot of time. He chose to save time. http://www.networkworld.com/community/node/68453 Me thots.

@Ashok, I know the cloud runs on many platforms, however seems the client cycle usage is changing. Is this article that shows the next step of what clients maybe looking at? If the move was from proprietory, then it would mean saving costs. This person has now arrived at a decision about saving on TIME costs. How unique is that? Somehow open software ( free software because you do not pay for it ) has no more significance versues a new competion = TIME ( from a client perspective ). Anyway, I found it unique.
