Ref: Advanced storage for photographers

Where do you store your photos? Many photographers use a DAS (directly attached storage). This includes external hard drives and USBs. But when these fill up, you have to buy another. And pretty soon you have your files spread out over a pile of storage devices, which makes finding the file you need difficult. Also, when you need the file, you have to carry the storage around with you, and if you forget it at home, you’re out of luck. The solution? Network Attached Storage, from Synology. Josy, I have a Synology Drive at home connected as my Mac Timeserver it works pretty well on RAID 4 I think. For a professional house the main challenge is workflow process of storing raw files, the processed the final as well as indexing for keywords, lightroom can do this and requires knowledge of NFS etc. Thanks for the pointer. Noted David, Adobe Lightroom is designed to assist users in managing large quantities of digital images and doing post production work in streamlined way. I agree for professional houses defining an ideal workflow is a challenge but with Synology Storage Solutions support for NFS and other storage protocols --NFS, AFP, ISCSI, CIFS, SMB2, WebDav, FTP, CLoud and many more make it easy to design a workflow and streamline your needs. For NFS, follow this simple tutorial<http://www.synology.com/support/tutorials_show.php?q_id=566&lang=enu>and your will have NFS setup incase you using Lightroom and Synology drive.
