Besides what has been suggested to you, you can just run the command: `whois a.b.c.d` You will get who the IP block to which it belongs it allocated to. Hi Unfortunately someone is spreading false roumors about a friend. The ip lands squarley at microsoft eu as the user is using a hotmail address. The private addresses being used are reserved by IANA 10.224.46.8 10.204.52.82 Any ideas ?? Thanks Athar

Hello Athar, For IP tracking, you'll need to get the full headers from the email whose senders's IP you want to track. The full headers of the email gives you the IP address of the computer used to send the email. After you obtain the full headers, you can use http://whatismyip.com/tools/ip-address-lookup.asp to identify the ISP leasing that public address.
