What is Masaa? Masaa is a tool that tracks your internet usage, whether on per Minute or per MB billing and keeps a history of the data for future reference. Also provide are optional reminders based on cost or time preferences. Masaa is designed for non-technical users and is not appropriate for those who run a home network for file sharing, or as a print server. Why do I need to track my data usage? Data Modems are the most popular way of accessing the internet, unfortunately data providers such as Safaricom , Airtel or Orange Kenya do not provide regular usage data to their clients making it difficult to verify whether you are billed correctly. Also given the different billing packages such as per Minute billing offered by the providers Masaa will come in handy. Masaa also intends to automatically detect and set the current bundle charges straight from your service provider. Best of all its free of charge and given its design can be extended through plugins to provide more advance configurations and functionality. I think its a great app; i wud like that ! especially to track safcoms way of charging !

I agree, great for those running Safaricom's (expansive) per minute billing. I have installed the app using Wine on Fedora 15 with Gnome 3.0. Notifications on the Title Bar, same place Chrome now puts its controls/title for focussed tab. recommendations: add support for decimals in cost per MB. you can even have field for MBs purchased and Cost so that it automatically calculates this. Congrats!

Safaricom uses per-minute billing ? Since when ??? What if one doesnt get the page loaded in 10 minutes,, bado watakula ??

For a while, they even have billboards out.
