I want to implementing a cheap cctv solution. Am thinking of having wireless webcams installed and having a software to take snapshots at regular intervals has anyone does this before. I need advice and guidance... Thanks

@Michael even if you go down the cost effective route, keep in mind that
wireless cameras/webcams are easy to break " broken into " in that they may use a very simple plain text password system for authentication. As a start, define your zones of coverage i.e private or public, then formulate a system that will work for this. Rgds.

http://www.mythtv.org/ and a couple of POE-enabled cameras will do the trick. BR, S

thank for the suggestions.. may be if i give you the scenario you will understand better. One of my clients just realised that some of his employees were stealing from the store. I therefore want to install cameras without causing a lot of attention. if i were to use cables, the wiring involved would make people suspicious, but i believe i can install the wireless cameras covertly On Thu, Sep 3, 2009 at 1:29 PM, MotoBaridi <motobaridi@gmail.com> wrote:

Wifi-enabled cams, and take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_video_recorder for some free/oss DVR apps. BR, S

I'm too tempted to ask this one : Will the cameras be covered with a birds nest, with a dummy bird making random noises? LOL!
