A few question 1. Are you able to change the language from Japanese to English? 2. Are you able to change the frequency limit without installing an fm expander? 3. Are you able to change the maps to Kenyan?
From my experience the functionality you mentioned are never a problem. If you can change the three above, then you are awesome.

1. Are you able to change the language from Japanese to English?
The language is programmed in the hardware. No software can reverse this. Show me someone who can change the language and I will show you a pink elephant with wings :-).
2. Are you able to change the frequency limit without installing an fm expander?
No. You HAVE to add an FM expander for this. The frequency range for Japanese radios is between 76-90MHz. The Japanese optimize their cars for their people. That's why you need that little hack called an expander to receive radio channels in Kenya or any other EA country. I'm pretty sure it applies to all countries in the Commonwealth.
3. Are you able to change the maps to Kenyan?
Another question I get alot. The answer is NO. To run maps, you need to invest in infrastructure. And its a huge investment. With very little returns. Very few countries in the world have such infrastructure. So in short, maps can't be changed to Kenyan.
From my experience the functionality you mentioned are never a problem. If you can change the three above, then you are awesome.
You got a point, but that error we fix prevents you from enjoying Japanese Radio, Japanese maps and all the other things you mentioned. Some people end up spending 10k+ to replace their "useless" radios when we have the solution for 1,500 only.

Hmm so what's the point? I'm thinking i need my radio to speak english (1), show me kenyan maps (2), and listen to kenyan radio stations? As in what are you offering Janet? (I'm probably missing something obvious...) As far as I've seen they play DVDs and have rear view cameras working and with an expander can listen to Kenyan radio? or am I wrong? Interesting; I had such a radio on my x-trail long ago, but all I had to do was press the CD, FM or HDD (function) button or insert an audio CD (effectively changing it to audio CD mode) to remove it from NAV Mode and all was ok. So does it mean when it shows "Insert correct map disc" it gets stuck there forever regardless of what you press? It's a tech forum; so expect tech questions... Oh and do German from UK :p doubt it can happen to me ;) On 14 October 2014 09:53, Janet Ngugi <janongush@gmail.com> wrote:

True that @Thuo, The service is legit, since she's solving a problem. Just like you would visit a shoe shine booth. Shoe polishing is an easy task and with a little googling you can find videos that show you how this is done and perhaps download apps that give you the right polish-to-shine ratios. Notheless you still go to a shoe shine booth because its not worth your hours to learn how to do it or carry a backup rug, water and shoe brush wherever you go. secondly someone goes home with a packet full of unga. :) rgds *_______________________________________________________________We must Keep on, We can't stop here * On Wed, Oct 15, 2014 at 3:39 PM, Thuo Wilson via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

Back to the original Advert. *Call us/Email us off list for a quick and honest fix. **Best price in town.* Am I the only one who noticed that the lady had not left a number to be called on? What an ad? Before you roast the lady, the advert communicates exactly whats on offer. The list is however not her target market. For most skunks, fiddling with technology and downloading 50 CDs just for one to work is no job. Not forgetting waiting for google translator to convert Japanese to English. For all I care she is selling over the counter drugs to the doctors. On Wed, Oct 15, 2014 at 4:24 PM, Jared Koyier via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

A few question

This lady is offering nothing useful at KES 1,500:). "Please insert correct map disk" is a frivolous issue. The system functions normally if you do not put it in GPS mode. Besides, even with that message displayed, it doesn't stop one from playing other media (Radio/CD/HDD media). On 14 October 2014 09:55, Jared Koyier via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

In all fairness this error is resolved by use of the navigation dvd that should come with the car. Alternatively iso image files are available online for those patient enough to trawl the web. Without knocking anyone's hustle, this is a legit problem with a fairly easy fix. --Mark. On 14 Oct 2014, at 10:41, "Alvin Jason Ochieng via skunkworks" <skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

See previous email. Maybe I should attach a bunch of other photos of radios I have fixed that had the same problem. The error comes when you disconnect your battery and will not go away until you insert said correct map disc. Until then, you can only listen to music by faith and: 1. Cannot watch DVD videos if the nav has DVD playing abilities 2. You rearview camera is just there for show, you will not see what the rearview camera is seeing. 3. AUX can't be used 4. You cannot preset your Radio with an expander 5. You cannot stare at Japanese Maps 7. You cannot play around with the sound beyond volume ie. No equalizer etc 8. In short, your radio is just another vestigial device in your car [image: Inline image 1][image: Inline image 2] On Tue, Oct 14, 2014 at 9:55 AM, Jared Koyier <jaredkoyier@gmail.com> wrote:

Hmm so what's the point? I'm thinking i need my radio to speak english (1), show me kenyan maps (2), and listen to kenyan radio stations? As in what are you offering Janet? (I'm probably missing something obvious...) As far as I've seen they play DVDs and have rear view cameras working and with an expander can listen to Kenyan radio? or am I wrong?

A few question
