Ooh..ok thanks. Wanted to really know how it works. I also had its really cheap. 600/= per month -----Original Message----- From: Job Muriuki Sent: 06/04/2013, 9:48 am To: Skunkworks Mailing List Subject: Re: [Skunkworks] Legal or illegal? NOOB! hehe.
The application in question is Wi-Free unless i'm mistaken.
You buy a voucher code, get the software, install it and use a modem without Credit to create a VPN Via international servers and *BAM!
* *You're online!!
* It's about 600/- KSH a month to get online. By far the cheapest option in Kenyan history. And the speeds are not half bad depending on your network.
Question here for me would be the legality of piggybacking on a network without using their bandwidth but using their system to log on to the internet via a dislocated set of servers.

Most of the time, I think these solutions work on UDP protocols and ports, while telcos bill you for HTTP traffic? Some telcos block some ports but the solution just moves to another unblocked port.

Yep. It's a UDP prot. Runs quite well. Though the speeds are limited only by your network. i.e. Edge, HSDPA, HSDPA+ or 3G. I found it works on Wi-Fi connections as well. On Sat, Apr 6, 2013 at 1:14 PM, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:
