Windows 8 and Its Incredibly Cool New Touch Interface

I asked this before, why does Microsoft think we'll fall for for Numbering over functionality? The ink is barely dry for Windows 7 and now they are out with Windows 8. What's going to make 8 successful if 7 got lukewarm support? This is very telling about the effect which this Redmond continues to "enjoy" (sic) in the technology space. Its all an option. Ubuntu releases more versions than Microsoft and I dont see people complaining. No one is forcing anyone to leave windows 7. I know alot of people who are still on XP. In the end, the consumer chooses what they want, Microsoft are just doing business On Fri, Jun 3, 2011 at 3:54 PM, David Kiania | Asentric Consulting Ltd < kianiadee@gmail.com> wrote:

David go slow, Windows has been doing fine, Windows 8 (according to my own preview) is going to take IT to the next level. It's been designed to for instance, work seamlessly with both the desktop and the tablets, and the phones. The Windows ecosystem is large, extremely large than many people here imagine, so we are going to see a large port of Windows 8 devices. We also have to recognize that developing an OS is no mean feat, especially when hackers have ganged up to defeat your cause. Ubuntu is evolving so fast, but where Windows is going, Ubuntu will find it hard. By the way, I like the new Windows phones, they look far much better than that OS from Google (I meant Android). With Skype, we know things can only get better. Long live MSFT On Fri, Jun 3, 2011 at 4:27 PM, David Kiania | Asentric Consulting Ltd < kianiadee@gmail.com> wrote:

The frequent release of OS may be MS own undoing. With other players offerring OS for free and sell on what OS can achieve n its compatibility is what will tose MS out. With windows one is forced to keep catching up even before you fully enjoy a version, they r busy selling you another one. Its security (none of the OS is ultimately secure) is their weakest point, its useability has left its too prone and open to hackers. Will be good to see what windows 8 has to offer. Would say more opportunities for local developers to port old applications to new platform and take advantage of new technologies...that means more cash for local developers. Would be interesting to hear people discuss new technologies like System On Chip (SOC) that will be key for Windows 8... regards, On Sat, Jun 4, 2011 at 2:12 PM, Peter Osotsi <peter.osotsi@gmail.com> wrote:

We also have to recognize that developing an OS is no mean feat, especially when hackers have ganged up to defeat your cause. Ubuntu is evolving so fast, but where Windows is going, Ubuntu will find it hard. By the way, I like the new Windows phones, they look far much better than that OS from Google (I meant Android). With Skype, we know things can only get better.

Have to say. I'm all Apple Fanboy & all but Win 8. Looks WOW!. Its a whole new way of interaction. They've done something that looks really nice. The User Interaction seems .. brilliant to say the least. There's a wonderful way to work with your doc's etc. And Images too. Yes, it's not a mac. But it's different.
