In line with its goal to make quality training available to a wider audience than its corporate clientele, PowerTalks is hosting weekly training sessions that are priced to accomodate the non institutional participant. The Schedule for November is as follows: *Friday 6th November 2009* *Change That Works: Planning, Selling and Implementation Strategies* Many companies initiate change policies and programs with great enthusiasm. A year down the line, they look back and discover that none of the changes were implemented. Many times, it is not because the changes were not good or not needed. On the contrary, some of these changes would have taken the organizations to the next level. These changes were however not successful because they were not well planned for. This lecture is designed to present participants with tools to measure the intensity, the methodology and the impact of change ever before it is initiated. By the end of the class participants would have been equipped to strategically provide a soft landing for change in their organizations. *Friday 13th November 2009* *PEST Induced Changes: Establishing Rapid Response Systems* Not all change is planned for. Certain Political, Environmental, Socio-Cultural and Technical factors can impose change that can have dramatic consequences on the organization. This lecture will show participants how to create systems that ensure readiness for change at all times and how to ride the waves of these imposed changes to accomplish corporate goals and objectives. *Friday 20th November 2009* *Qualification versus Ability: Drawing the Line* If Bill Gates had applied for a job in the IT department of your company when he dropped out of Harvard would you have given him a job? The answer is most probably no. More than ever before there is a sharp rise in highly skilled professionals who may not necessary have colourful academic qualifications. Where does one draw the line between skill and ability and how does one make that crucial decision on which person to take – the skilled one or the qualified one? *Friday 27th November 2009* *Practical Exercises for Developing a Change Compliant Mind* Human beings are prisoners of logic and prisoners of habit. That is why when something new that challenges status quo shows up, many people are not able to handle it. This very unique class shows participants how to increase the capacity of their mind to initiate, handle and accommodate change. *Venue: *Boardroom, 1st floor, International Life House Nairobi** *Time; *6:30 pm to 8pm** *Course Fee: *Ksh 1,500 per module** *Kshs 4,000 if registering for all the Modules* *Target Group* Business owners and aspiring business owners, Chief Executives, Line Managers and departmental heads, Decision makers in businesses and NGO,s. * * *Methodology* used to deliver the seminar is highly interactive and participatory with group work and practical exercises. *Key Facilitator *will be Dr. Wale Akinyemi, an International HR Development and Corporate Strategy Consultant with over 20 years of practical experience in assisting companies, governments and non governmental organizations in formulating winning and out of the box strategies. He is also an associate and consultant with the Institue of Human Resource Management in Kenya and CEO of PowerTalks.
