Of late, with Airtel, either 1. my sms does not get delivered to the recipient, OR 2. if it gets delivered, I do not get the delivery report My phone is configured to receive the delivery reports. I seem to get delivery reports 1% of the time. 99% I do not. When I check the status of the messages in the "Reports" folder, almost all are marked as "Pending". I believe there are engineers from Airtel reading this. The affected number is the one in my signature text below. Anyone else seeing the same symptoms and willing to help me out?? It's very important for me to get the two issues resolved, because I have resorted to calling the recipient, as a followup just to confirm they received my text, which is an extra expense (unless Airtel has it this way by design!). Calling Airtel Customer Care is even more irritating, as the chaps there do not appear competent enough to address any problems. They take you round, you get pissed off, then they say they'll forward your problem to "IT" and you should be called after 48hrs. Unfortunately, that marks the end of any communication from Airtel, as no one from their side ever gets to follow up on the problem you reported. I am not subscribed to any of their funny services apart from the "Preferred Numbers" and my line is a corporate line. PS: I have submitted a complaint to CCK as well via their complaints web link, because not it seems it's one of those cases of "naomba serikali iitusaidie". -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ I can't hear you -- I'm using the scrambler. How come it's all perfect from my end? I send a text, I get a delivery message immediately. Maybe I'll be whining in a few days time.... On 28/05/2011, Peter Osotsi <peter.osotsi@gmail.com> wrote:

From the look of things, when I send sms from Airtel -> Other network, you get the delivery reports. I tested with Safaricom only, so I cannot attest to _others_ though. When you send Airtel->Airtel, even delivery of the sms itself is in doubt. I don't get the delivery report.
Anyone wants to run realtime tests with me?? On Sat, May 28, 2011 at 18:23, Solomon Mburu Kamau <solo.mburu@gmail.com>wrote:
