am setting up an SMS system but when i set the modem (Fusion 220) to AT+CSMS=0 so that its in PDU and i try to read SMS it still reads them as Text.

Just try AT+CMGF=0 because what you are issuing looks like AT+CSMS=0 is the command to check if the modem supports SMS commands Is there any error thrown? _tyrus
