So, After a lengthy chat with a friend who is quite proficient in Windows technology and terminology, he convinced me to shift the Home PC's ( Yes. I know. I am ashamed ) to windows 7 32Bit from XP. Another "Expert" who just happens to be my cousin working for a MS Disti in UG claims the benefits are not so WOOP! and it won't really help my parents more with their emailing etc. than in XP. Is this true? I am ignorant in Windows technologies. I've checked a number of online comparisons and each is partial. What say the Skunks? -- ...and I shall shed my light over dark evil. For the dark things cannot stand the light.

Hello Watchie, It's been said that Windows 7 incorporates the aesthetics of Vista with the speed of XP, and adds some sanity to the security architecture of Windows. I tend to agree with that. For a user who does just e-mailing, there is not so much to gain from the upgrading, but just money to lose to Microsoft:) -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Damn!!

I concur, when upgrading to Windows 7, one must have appreciated the pains of Windows security, viruses among a myriad of other issues usually experienced by advansed Windows users. For someone who doesn't do much more that sending emails and playing Minesweeper, I would suggest you stick to XP.... @ Wash, indeed....only but money to lose to Micro$oft! So is it fair to say that if the users were photographers / programmers ( High End Users ) the upgrade would be a viable justification? For reference purposes this question has been asked. Thank you @Wash and @Greg for your input. Watchie. On Thu, Dec 30, 2010 at 11:56 AM, Gregory Okoth <gregory.okoth@gmail.com>wrote:

Watchie;
From my experience, only gamers and anyone interested in new gizmos are happy with such an upgrade. Programmers, web designers and other techies prefer Windows XP, I think programmers in the forum agree. Windows XP is just insanely great than all other windows.

Watchie.

In my experience, Win7 is the best Microsoft have come up with. The feel even for novices is great, Its easy to use just like XP. I would introduce it to my parents, im sure they too would enjoy the experience. Regards, On Thu, Dec 30, 2010 at 10:35 AM, Watchman <skunkingrahim@gmail.com> wrote:
