Hi, pmusyoki@gmail.com There was a time that you had indicated how to lock your IPHONE just in case it is stolen. I forgot the app. Kindly remind me. Thank you. Regards -- Anthony Tai "A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination."

Hi Dave, This will only work if you had enabled 'Find my iPhone' on the device. Then all you need to do is go to https://www.icloud.com, login with your iCloud account credentials and click 'Find my iPhone'. You could also use another iDevice with 'Find my iPhone' installed to track the lost phone. But all this has to happen quick before the thief re-install the Firmware on the iPhone or disables the network. Then the iPhone can't be found. Always enable a Passcode Lock on your iPhone as this delays the process of disabling and deleting your personal settings and data. While I think Apple has done well with the 'Find my iPhone' feature, I believe they could have gone further and allowed fro a way to find the iPhone by IMEI even if the account settings it is tied to are changed.

I believe ur talking abt "find my iphone". It is a good app but works best for lost phones not stolen ones because a knowledgeable thief can easily disable the app once he steals the phone. Just ensure that you keep your imei number safe. Incase its stolen the police will require the imei number to assist them trace it. Yeah I agree with Musyoki Apple should have built the app into the ios and made sure that the feature can only be disabled with a passkey. It would make it much easier to track stolen phones. On Mon, Oct 8, 2012 at 12:55 PM, Jimmy Thuo <jimmy.thuo@gmail.com> wrote:

Antony, Go to Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone and enable it. Installing the App on the phone by itself does not enable the feature to find the iPhone. I am assuming you have already created a free iCloud account. If not, you will need to. The process is the same. Go to Settings > iCloud and then you can create the account from there. Later, you can download the App to your phone. Though this does not help when this particular iPhone is the one that gets stolen. To find it, then you will need another iPhone or iPad with Find My iPhone or simply any computer with a web browser and go to icloud.com. You will also get an iCloud email addtess, plus all you contacts will be synced between your iPhone and iCloud.com. If you have Google Contacts you need to import, Google now supports CardDAV Account that you can use to sync your Google Contacts with the iPhone. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account... and select Other. Choose Add CardDAV Account from Contacts Section. Server is google.com with your usual username (your full Gmail address) and password. Save and then you will have your Google Contacts Synced with your iPhone.

Thanks Phillip. Done. Regards, -- Anthony Tai "A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination." On Mon, Oct 8, 2012 at 1:33 PM, Philip Musyoki <pmusyoki@gmail.com> wrote:

For a stolen iPhone CID are the most equipped be it jurisdiction or tech wise to hunt down the culprits through liaising with the telcos. Otherwise a strong passcode should buy you time for tracking the phone. On Mon, Oct 8, 2012 at 1:43 PM, Anthony Tai <jicholatai@gmail.com> wrote:
