Re: [Skunkworks] [SKUNKWORKS] Galaxy Nexus vs HTC One x

Mark you realize the Galaxy Nexus is technically a google phone on Samsung hardware, with a huge influence from Google about design, your argument on TouchWiz doesnt apply. On the other hand, if you have used the Galaxy S III like me you would know that Touchwiz 4 is quite awesome. That aside, customisations do make OS upgrade slow, applies to HTC and Samsung, only Nexus devices are safe from that. And I thank the skunks for the great feedback, looks like HTC has fans in here, we will go with it if that 15K diff isnt anything for him compared to the perceived prestige that comes with up the ladder. -----Original Message----- From: Mark Mwangi Sent: 13-09-2012, 19:24 To: Skunkworks Mailing List Subject: Re: [Skunkworks] [SKUNKWORKS] Galaxy Nexus vs HTC One x I would avoid Samsung if I was this bloke. I was of the opinion he opts for either Galaxy Nexus or HTC One x which I understand are selling at 50 and 65k respectively at Fonexpress. Question I wanna ask.
How is customer service handled locally for HTC and Galaxy Nexus? Updates story about HTC?\
I know Google is my friend, but Skunkworks is my best friend.

If I may add, the build quality of HTC is superb. You can even feel it in your hands. Disclaimer: I am basing this on a different model of HTC, not the One X On Thu, Sep 13, 2012 at 8:54 PM, Martin Gicheru <martin@techweez.com> wrote:

@martin touche' I haven't used the S3 and if you say its awesome then I have no rejoinder :) . The experience on the galaxy, galaxy S and the SII was spoiled for me by the touchwiz interface. It did not improve operation and more importantly degraded aesthetics in my view. But thats just me. On Thu, Sep 13, 2012 at 9:00 PM, Bwana Lawi <mail2lawi@gmail.com> wrote:

+1 for HTC. I'm a very satisfied Android user!

From the post, seems most have experience with the HTC, while many allude to the Google Nexus being an extension of the Samsung which it isn't.
One great thing about the Nexus is that it is supported by Google, and spots Android 4.1 which has good very good reviews, even from iPhone enthusiasts.

The Nexus is a great phone. Comes with Jelly bean which is very fluid, no touch wizz biz, just android as Google intended. Ooh did i mention the curved glass and costs only 350usd? On 9/14/12, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:

I'd recommend the nexus for the pure android experience, and for the constant updates of android which the manufacturers have constantly failed to provide. Shooting myself in the foot, there are also the customized ROMs available for other phones such as CM for devices that don't get the updates.
