I find the Windows xp on Linux in Virtuabox more stable than Xen. Any similar/different observations?

Totally agree there. Also tested Win 7 on both and found virtual box handles it quite well. Have a great day! Warm regards, Amarjit Singh Labhuram. On Tue, Oct 12, 2010 at 11:32 AM, Patrick Kariuki <patrick.kariuki@gmail.com

Yup! Been running an XP VM for the past year shuttled from ubuntu 9.04, 9.10 and currently 10.04, and I haven't seen a BSOD. Not even once! I once had my laptop running 14 days straight and I still didn't have to reset/reboot the VM - it wasn't even slow. Pretty good for VirtualBox, I must say!

14months now on full-time and still surprisingly stable. On Tue, Oct 12, 2010 at 12:02 PM, Haggai Nyang <haggai.nyang@gmail.com>wrote:

Looks like we have a winner for desktop virtualization(opensource)..Xen is best suited for servers, working on Vbox from Xen is much easier and suprisingly faster for desktops. On 10/12/10, Amarjit Labhuram <amarjit.labhuram@gmail.com> wrote:

Check your fstab configs..there's a faq that sorts that issue out on the vbox site. I agree btw, Vmware on Linux(Debian Etch) a nightmare! On 10/12/10, Eric Mugo <kabugum@gmail.com> wrote:

Eric...if you are using ubuntu as the host, just go to users and groups, click on manage groups, scroll to vboxusers, Add, the finally add yourself to the list of users! On 10/12/10, Patrick Kariuki <patrick.kariuki@gmail.com> wrote:
