Wow; now our new house help has just locked our submissive Sansui tv, and she has no idea what she did. Unfortunately, im using a generic remote and have no idea how to remove the child lock. I'm getting punished as I cant watch news or my favourite sport or cartoons. Who'll come to my aid. I have googled for manuals to naught! --------------- <?p3t3r Don't wait for success; hunt it down like there's no tomorrow.

Go back to the vendor you bought the TV and ask them ... On Tue, Mar 23, 2010 at 9:51 AM, Peter Osotsi <peter.osotsi@gmail.com>wrote:

Ok, remedies... (1) some TVs have flash memory, the moment you unplug them and wait for the capacitors to clear, the TV will forget the childlock (2) for some TVs - you need to press 3 or 4 digits to unlock - try the usual suspects and press 'ok' or 'enter' You could try 111 or 123 as 1111 and 1234 are common factory presets. or 666 - number of the beast or 667 - neighbor of the beast (3) Most devices only lock the remote, so you can access the device by pressing the -/+ volume buttons on the TV front at the same time - similarly, some sets allow you to press the channel -/+ to access the device. - you can also try these buttons on the TV itself

Heheheh @ Flash Mem. In fact Sansui sounds quite funny and suspicious for a TV.With such a make, you might be lucky enough that they included a cmos battery or some reset jumpers. Just try your luck ;-)! Chris_w. dabnix@gmail.com

Chris; If you love sports and have DSTV, in the background, the screens are all Sansui's, and its a very good set, anyway. Its day 2, I've tried my luck even with the beasts number and lol, im back to square one. In my locality I'm told one quark can do marvelous, im just abt to resign my fate to him or better purchase another set. Before then, let me visit the service centre on Moi Avenue ------------------- <?p3t3r 2010/3/23 Chris W. <dabnix@gmail.com>
