OT: Improve sound system on the car

Hi All, Is there anyone who can recommend a good guy who can redo or improve the sound system of a BMW 318i by enabling it such that i can connect an ipod without messing up the interior. Its a 2003 Model. Regards, Eric Mugo.

Just buy an Ipod fm transmitter. Unless your a chain smoker its a do-it- yourself thing. On 10/15/10, Eric Mugo <kabugum@gmail.com> wrote:

Research proves that people who changed their sound system was as a result of the change in sound of their tyres on the tarmac. Which roads do you drive on? Are your windows always open? How is the interior of the car? These questions are pointers to what you may want to consider as you look into changing your sound system. PIMP MY RIDE Show proves this by showcasing people changing the whole ride to get good sound…. Are you game? On Fri, Oct 15, 2010 at 4:46 PM, Eric Mugo <kabugum@gmail.com> wrote:

well, its mostly town driving...and most of the time the windows are up when driving...its a fairly "new" car and quite quiet when driving with windows up....the interior isok..no loos items....it didn't come with a cd player...just a tape drive hence the need for an extra source of music when doing long distance for example......... Ipod FM transmitter - at Elite Apple Distributor - Hapo chini Sarit... Around 5-7.5k w/r

Though this is what I did: I went to Luthuli, huko chini; Bought a back to back standard audio jack for 20 bob to 50 bob.. Plugged in the iPod into the "in" jack of the car stereo On the Remote or Play Menu - changed source to "AUX" or "CD-IN" And Voila - iPod playlist !!! === But thats in a good old Toyota - dont know about BMW stereo, but you could give it a shot !

Thanks all, Unfortunately the BMW stereo doesn't have the auxilliary port hence my predicament. I think i will try the elite option at sarit....hope they wont rip me off saaaaaana.... i once bought those FM transmitter and it had very poor sound quality..but i paid 700kshs for it...i hope the one at elite will have better quailty... I would suggest you go with your car there.. Then tell them to come out with an engineer/technician to test for you,,, If you pay 7 Ngwanyes,, you cant afford to walk away with a dud !

7k is rather pricey... though there's not too much option locally. I once sourced one (outside kenya) for about 2500. -- Josiah Mugambi 2010/10/19 ndungu stephen <ndungustephen@gmail.com>

I bought mine in SA for about 3k and came to see one in an electronic shop at T-Mall and it was half the price - about 1.7k works like a charm, except for some notorious spots in the city where some radio signals are stronger than the transmitter's signals. ./Ok3ch On Tue, Oct 19, 2010 at 1:29 PM, Watson Kambo <wkwats@gmail.com> wrote:

Don't have any long mixes on the iPhone, but for sure, it starts any track from the beginning if the car is switched off. ./Ok3ch On Tue, Oct 19, 2010 at 2:29 PM, Eric Mugo <kabugum@gmail.com> wrote:
