Re: [Skunkworks] Can a cell phone do this

Alternatively, if the phone is older and made of sturdier stuff, you can 1. call your friend who has your other remote for to open the window 2. Ask him to get that remote and press it near his phone. 3. Throw your phone really hard against the mirror. 4. Get the key you locked inside and disable that wailing alarm. 5. ... maybe you don't need step one and two ... Kipkemoi On Aug 13, 2009 5:53 PM, "Billy" <billyx5@gmail.com> wrote: Not possible! I'd rather go with Kipkemoi's method. Let's deconstruct the "method" Car alarm keyfobs are radio based. - http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview/id/768952.html There's no way you can get the radio signal from your home over your radio to your car. You'd need to - Convince us that your microphone can now modulate the radio signals (Go fight with shannon over this). You'll even be lucky to get to transmit a 20khz sound (!NOT RADIO!) ignoring that your key fob is emiting a signal whose freq is > 10000 * 20 times greater. Obviously, by now the story is a fib - Transmit the sound over gsm. By observation we don't have 10baseT ethernet over our phones, worse audio encoding data (what a modem does) gives you 9kbps I think. Good luck trying cram a 300mhz signal down that channel - On the other end, the other cell phone has to demodulate your signal, emit it as a radio signal for the car! Ha! Hell freezes over while you are still trying to move the phone around the car... Bonus Aside: I got to know about openbts - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenBTS .
