[SKUNKWORKS] Personal items theft at intercontinental hotel Nairobi

Just thought to alert you guys to not be so trusting while at the Intercontinental. I had my laptop bag stolen yesterday after an event we had there early yesterday. Not even CCTV footage could get me to identify the thief, we were four of us watching the footage and couldn't pick a thing. The bag was stolen while in the hall after the event, cctv cameras are at the corridors only, so within the halls that couldn't be tracked. My last suspicion could be either an inside job or someone had time to put in my bag in a carton/bigger bag. So be vigilant, don't stay a minute away from your things while there. I think this incident cannot be unique to the Intercontinental - as your email potrays ./Ok3ch On Fri, Jul 19, 2013 at 8:35 AM, Martin Gicheru <martin@techweez.com> wrote:

I agree with Ok3ch. This kind of thing happens anywhere, be vigilant enuff not to create an opportunity, there is always someone ready to risk being caught. Luke. On Fri, Jul 19, 2013 at 10:47 AM, Okechukwu <okechukwu@gmail.com> wrote:

On the contrary, thieves hate being caught, they thrive well where they can't be caught, hence fewer bank robbers

This also happened to me at joint X along Moi Avenue. The person who actually took the bag did it mistakenly and they were even caught on camera. What I wondered was what to do after having the image. Point is this is not unique to Intercon Hotel and we ought to be vigilant with our goods always. Pole for the loss though. regards, SS On Sat, Jul 20, 2013 at 6:50 PM, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:
