iPhone + App store woes

Hi all, Want to install a whole bunch of apps on the iPhone. Most of them are on the AppStore Current model requires you to have an iTunes Account to do this. All my efforts to setup this account require me to have an address outside of Kenya (UK, South Africa, USA etc) and/or a credit card number. Has anyone found a workaround to do with without either? Bryo

Registered mine, with my card number, but gave address in South Africa - so I can access the SA store and download all free apps, but can't buy since the authorization for the card is always denied due to wrong address - but am enjoying the app store free apps. ./Ok3ch On Thu, Nov 5, 2009 at 11:43 AM, Brian Munyao Longwe <blongwe@gmail.com> wrote:

Its very annoying!

But then again if its just an address they need - 1 Infinite Loop Cupertino, CA 95014 (It may work this is the apple corporate address). What i think they dont do is verify the address. or you could use Microsoft's too am sure folks have done that. Cheers, Mich

Its pretty straight forward: 1. Sign up for a Paypal account and register & verify your Kenyan Credit card. 2. Use your credit card to load up funds to paypal 3. Register on iunes and choose your payment method as Paypal. 4. You now have access to non free software from the US store. ... Top up your Paypal account using your credit card whenever necessary. You can use the Kenyan credit/debit cards with the South Africa address at the South African store. You will be able to purchase the paid apps. Works with CBA debit/credit cards, KCB debit/credit cards but not Standard Chartered ones. I have to tried the others. Maybe BarclayCard could work.

Just tried the South African method with my prepaid KCB debit card. Didn't work...ama it's because I have zero balance? wink wink! hehehehe.... Brian On Thu, Nov 5, 2009 at 12:48 PM, Philip Musyoki <pmusyoki@gmail.com> wrote:

Maybe it is because you have zero balance. If you do not have zero balance, just call the Card Centre and tell them your card does not work and they will fix it.

Hi all, Success!!! The method recommended by Phares combined with the US address from Michuki (Apple....hehehehe) worked like a charm. Ahsanteni nyote!!!!!!! Mblayo On Thu, Nov 5, 2009 at 3:37 PM, Philip Musyoki <pmusyoki@gmail.com> wrote:

Mblo, Get a hold of Stephen Ndungu, Mworia or Wesley who I guess are lurking in the list, they might be having some good ideas on how to go about it.
