Anybody used PHP/Java bridge with Birt before? It seems to work fine with the given examples (created with older versions of Birt Designer - version 2.3) but returns an exception and a long trace when trying with currently created reports (version 3.7) I'm almost sure the problem is the versions. I'm also using a very recent PHP/Java bridge. What could be there problem? -- Samuel Waithaka http://www.linkedin.com/in/waithaka http://twitter.com/samwaithaka

Why would you want to use PHP/Java Bridge? Why not just seperate the apps On Fri, Nov 25, 2011 at 12:04 PM, Samuel Waithaka <samwaithaka@gmail.com>wrote:

That's actually how they are currently (using Birt Viewer), but it's proving more convenient to have them in one place. On Fri, Nov 25, 2011 at 12:06 PM, Paul Kevin <paultitude@gmail.com> wrote:

Found the solution. The Birt engine inside PHP/Java bridge for some reason hasn't been updated and thus it's incompatible with current versions of Birt designer. Not much has been said about upgrading the Birt inside Java Bridge (though quite simple steps); I found the solution here: http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/t/202489/ There are two Youtube videos. The second addresses this particular problem. Note: The Birt runtime 3.7.1 doesn't have the *plugins* directory, so I used version 2.6.2 which works ok.
