Invisible Secretaries?
Hi, I keep receiving the email below from people on (and outside) this list. When I call them, they confirm that they are not authors of the mails. I almost imagined it is virus or something like that. When I check on the net google returned only three pages: two from the quoted address below and one page from mchongoano.com. What does it mean then? who sends the email? who sends the email on your behalf? invisible secretaries? ===mail: Dear friend, I would like to introduce a really good company that mainly do the electornic products trade. We had loads of these on this list just the previous week! Not sure why that discussion skipped you, but yes, this is Kenyanized spam, unfortunately..... ati your first kenyanized spam? :) hehehe.... wait until the fiber hits, kina spammers will be fishing for mail addresses to hit plenty mail accounts. the spamming war is but just 2 month away. hopefully those who are seriuos about the problem are planning to put up some dmz against the spammers sites. ;)

Is the landing of the fiber the windfall for sysadmins - to start minting money? Date : Sept 2009. Ultra narrow bandwidth was, before fiber arrived, a good thing. spammers, trolls, runners, internet idlers did not particularly like the kenyan internet as it was comparable to pushing an elephant through a needle. Then suddenly in july, everything changed. the elephant could fly and run in all directions. Hehe, keep the prototype ready, lets say filtering before traffic hits the server.... :-)
