Know this virus that creates .exe of your folders then super-hides any folder in the flash disk. I was googling on trying to unhide; I only always get this tip of changing a value somewhere in the registry. It doesn't work at all. The command prompt won't work either. Anybody familiar with this? -- Samuel Waithaka http://www.linkedin.com/in/waithaka http://twitter.com/samwaithaka

The command prompt works perfectly. To see the hidden folders type this dir /ah To make a folder visible type the following attrib -S -H PutFolderNameHere This removes the system and the hidden attribute for the provided folder name. There's a way to do it recursively but i forget at this point in time. Do attrib /? and check out the parameters supported On Fri, Oct 9, 2009 at 9:28 AM, Samuel Waithaka <samwaithaka@gmail.com>wrote:

I think to make it recurse you do call attrib without a folder name, e.g. attrib -s -h -r On Fri, Oct 9, 2009 at 9:31 AM, Rad! <conradakunga@gmail.com> wrote:

Go to Website and Download<http://sites.google.com/site/usbdiskintegritychecker/> <http://sites.google.com/site/usbdiskintegritychecker/> try this simple utility i wrote just for this purpose.. you can use the attribute cleaner on the menu item or just use SCAN DISK on the USB disk and it will do the rest. The other utilities bundled with it such as the Task Manager may be used to terminate the suspected virus (it tries to guess the malicious program and highlights it in red text) especially if the Windows Task Manager isn't working. You can neutralize the program to permanently prevent it from working. Also the Startup Manager will assist to prevent reloading of the program again (also highlights). The SCAN DISK function also makes it impossible for virus to autorun by permanently preventing viruses from writing the autorun.inf entry...(will talk about this later) ill be posting the exact workings of the program by next week on how to maximize the smart utilities provided to remove and recovery from virus infections...and also the inner workings of the application Go to Website and Download<http://sites.google.com/site/usbdiskintegritychecker/> <http://sites.google.com/site/usbdiskintegritychecker/>

Jacob, I'm exploring it but this all brilliant! On Fri, Oct 23, 2009 at 9:18 AM, Jacob Ayienda <jacobayienda@gmail.com> wrote:
