Re: [Skunkworks] Safaricom next big thing

people ,lets understand what we are talking about first. a 2mbps link at 7k are u 4 real.theres' nothing like that people. Teams and seacom sell a 1meg link at around 300 usd,who would sell cheaper if they boought at that price,it doesnt make business sense people. when we say 2mbps ,it means either dedicated or contented and technically it might not even be dedicatd bt lets assume it is,which i doubt because of the pricing.......its a shared link, link cant even tell your IP if your are on a shared link simply because its a pool. The problem we have,is that we want cheap stuff ,we expect wat guys in the west get for the same amount of money,be4 we consider the circumstances. we have invested sparingly into our infrastructure, but we still expect services like in the west. 4 those who have been to any western nation,u realise in canada for example they can push upto 100mbps on a home link, folks, dont expect that from kenya right now, those who have been to britain, sky tv offers very affordable entertainment if you were to compare them and dstv the latter is more expensive, but sky has superior content. Lets galvanise to develop our country be4 we expect too much from this country, ask not what the country can do for you,but wat you can do for the country.......selah..... It would make extreme sense to market MPLS with a2Mbps Link at KES 7k. I know a ton of customers i have had to resort to public VPN over sim cards, sometimes multiple for redundancy just because the cost of last mile became inaffordable... TEAMS prices are sub $ 100

Teams prices may be sub-$100 but they have do depend on the infrastructure operators for the physical connectivity whose prices are even more than the internet prices per capacity. Plus what happens with TEAMS capacities when we have the cable cuts like in the last three or so weeks? Mugo On Mon, Mar 19, 2012 at 4:41 PM, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:
