Ok, since we did not suceed on the dream team webite, I'd like to list very briefly *my* *personal time on-going* *to future projects* over into the next 12 months, though not in any sequence and depends on many things. *- CDN Project:* Tentative date to go live is 1st week december. ( Began Sept 2008-Ongoing ) - Update : Awaiting bandwidth from a provider, delays are affecting further realtime testing and QOS placements. *If successful, will be offered to ventures. *- Web Portal Project:* ( 1- began July, not completed ) 3 portals, out of which 2 are classified. Nation has already beaten us to an online classified, however it should be ready for competition. Already learning about SEOs etc. *If successful, will be offered to ventures. *- Mbytetometer* - ( Began August 2009- not completed. Project Name credit : Washington ) A free windows based utility tool to allow for measurement and logging of data volumes used. A complete prototype will be offered for certification towards implementating a standard. Alex had offered to assist in getting certification which is a huge help. Conrad has also offered to help. ( Update 1 : Am studying WMI so as to use it as a query and logging api. Not much study material is available on WMI except for SDK. Seems VB.net is easier while c# is a bit more complicated on WMI ) A complete project will be offered to community at some stage. *- Revival of my Voip project *. * Will see if time allows. *If successful, will be offered to ventures. Thats my itenary, unless the local scene changes it. Will be updating as progress is made. :-) Rgds.

@Solomon, its something I should have done 15 years ago but its never too late for artists.... :-)

@ Aki, there is a need for a business or idea to go down then pick up from a point and move on. Although I might not have the same ideas as yours, I offer to volunteer my energies to make your projects materialize. So count me in when you so require manpower! @Solomon, thank much. Not to pre-empt anything now, its all in the pipeline. Let me complete building it first and as per time schedule. The primary reason for the Dream Tech Factory site was to create awareness of the sector. Its there and I know many can/are doing such things. Thanks again for your kind offer. :-) On Wed, Sep 30, 2009 at 12:26 PM, Solomon Mburu <solo.mburu@gmail.com>wrote:

Hey Wes, After the Kenyan Dream Tech Factory idea stalled, I preferred not to put up anything as it was going to become a time consuming exercise and maybe fail to meet the objectives.. The wiki sounds like a brilliant idea, I think we should kick it off and your contributions will be valuable. May I ask this : *Where shall we begin and when shall we have the site running?* Suggestions are welcome. Rgds. -- Trade Mark " my thots "

@Wesley, I've looked at some wiki sites. I think I can have something ready for use by sunday 4th. I hope it wll be okay as a basic site for now. Then as soon as time becomes available, we can spruce it up. Ni sawa? Cheers. :-)

It seems like the db problem is still there, one would need a username and password to login to that db to check/correct errors, so who can provide these? @David, did you get the logins to that database? On Thu, Oct 1, 2009 at 1:53 PM, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:

J2me Bluetooth Chat App (mobile app) :: Done and completed late 2005. j2me Dating App (mobile app) :: Got it off the ground but never completed it I guess its time is long overdue. Auctions 54 (website) :: 2006 :: done and completed coding it but never got it to work online. Bible wap (wap app) :: 2009 :: An ongoing project. I've managed to make it possible to search for long words(hope) as well as (jn 3:16 or John 3:16-18). but klondike(wap browser). Butchery and hostel apps(web app) :: 2008/09 :: I have started working on these but their owners haven't provided me with enough information to complete them. facebook app :: 2009:: Ordering stuff from facebook-tailored for ordering stuff while in kenya(local shops). I've just obtained my API key.

Hi @Clement, if you are interested in putting them on www.projectskenya.info , you can signup as a user and add yourself. Please have a look at what I've done so far and I shall make the Main Page as before and move my contribution to the community page where users can add their own content. To dismiss any fears of idea hijacks etc, I'll put in the clause that the ideas, developments remain the property of the registered user and therefore it is the user who is responsible for its handling. ( I have no personal interest in benefiting from others ideas but to put my projects ideas online and show case them when ready. Whether successful or not is something else all together. ) The only thing not permitted on the wiki is : anything that KCAct lists as illegal and no copy-right material to be posted to site. There were 3 aims of the site; - Create awareness - Commit to complete projects - Provide a tracking or self assesment The ideas or developements that one will list do not have to be very detailed as you want to protect yourself against idea hawks and the rest. If there are any reservations, pls do highlight them so that the wiki platform can be used for all. And by projects I mean to say this : It can be anything that you are considering eg someone has raised a important intent on developing a localised payroll system. This is fantastic and best of luck. Or we had Peter who started that thread on mac look linux which itself took time as a project. Finally, if we have any legal person on the list who can list points that must go on the site to protect users against anything, then let them list it so I can add to disclaimers. Else, Im on backbench and have had my say. :-) Rgds.

Well put Aki, I guess I'll do that after a short time off, probably next week. Many Thanks.

@Clement, thanks. :-) Please go ahead a check out the new layout on www.projectskenya.info , it is a test layout. *After you signup as a user , here's a HOW TO :* - *Do once only*. To add yourself to the Main Page contents list, click on edit on main page. You are now editing the main page. Click below the other names on the page, then click on the "A" on the editor. This will give you ==Headline Text==. Replace the "headline text" with your name. Then click on " save page" at the bottom of the page. If any user wants, I can do this for them. - *Everday editing your category* : Log on and click on "edit" ( right side of screen, follow the underline where your name appears ). Edit your text as necessary and click on "save changes" at the bottom of screen. Please logout when done. That's it. Suggestions and corrections are welcome. Rgds.
